Starts: 14th Sep. 2021
Application Deadline: 5th Sep.
Type: Virtual Event
The Sharif Socio-physics School (SSP2021) will be held from 14th September to 16th September. The school provides young graduate students and researchers and even advanced undergraduate students a useful set of information and skills on socio-physics
Social Physics or Sociophysics is a cross-disciplinary field of science which uses mathematical, quantifying and analytical tools from physics, complex systems, data science and beyond to understand social behaviors and systems. Ising model and voter dynamics, Potts model and cultural dynamics, population dynamics and evolution of languages, percolation models and virality of a gossip or fake news, are some examples of such studies. Here in this school, we first introduce how physicists address such systems, then we focus on some specific cases such spreading processes, opinion dynamics and relational and collective identities.
