Star Forming Region of NGC 604
Abstract: NGC 604 is an HII emission region within the Triangulum Galaxy (NGC 598), which is the second largest star forming region in the Local Group. Observing the HII and H_α emission helps us to study the star forming clouds and its physical parameters.
NGC604 is a very good target to observe and study by Iranian National Observatory 3.4m telescope. In this Seminar, Firstly, we explain the observation process of NGC 604 by the Iranian National Observatory. Then, by processing data from different filters (H_α- H_β- R- G) in several stages including initial images preprocessing, image alignment in different filters, calibrating the quality of the images, as well as correcting the red and green factors for continuum subtraction, we finally present a pure image of the star formation region of NGC 604 in the H_α and H_β filter.
These final images help us to extract temperature map and later we can calculate extinction difference of these two filters.
