سمینار این هفته را آقای دکتر معین مصلح از پژوهشکده نجوم پژوهشگاه دانش‌های بنیادی IPM ارائه خواهند کرد. عنوان و چکیدهٔ سمینار ایشان به شرح زیر است:

شکل گیری و تحول کهکشان ها: مرزهای پیش رو و آینده

 (Galaxy Formation and Evolution: The Frontiers and Future)

Abstract: In the last decade, we have witnessed enormous progress in the ability to understand the formation and evolution of galaxies. However, there are many open questions still remaining on all aspects of the galaxy formation and evolution. More work needs to be done in order to link between observed properties of galaxies and their underlying physics. On the other hand, the overwhelming amount of data will come in the near future as the next generation of telescopes such as JWST, Euclid, LSST, TMT, GMT, E-ELT, etc., will open up entirely new possibilities to resolve many more aspects of these studies. And the question is where we stand and how we can make best of them with careful and thoughtful planning!?

این سمینار در روز  یکشنبه ۴ آبان ماه ۱۳۹۳، ساعت ۱۵ در کلاس فیزیک ۴ در طبقهٔ اول  دانشکدهٔ فیزیک برگزار خواهد شد.
